Photographing a family is so special. Being welcomed into a families life is probably the coolest thing ever. And this family. My gosh I’ve known them for what feels like forever and every session I love more then the last.

For this shoot we decided to go back to the beach at sunrise and man was it perfect. Gorgeous sunrise. Perfect light breeze. Incredibly beautiful family. We laughed, we played and we definitely had to bust out the bug spray ;). I love when a family just trusts the process. If you show up to just have fun I promise you that’s when the magic happens. When you allow yourself to just fully be with your family. Enjoy their presence, enjoy the beautiful family you created, enjoy your spouse who has probably watched you grow up before their eyes and just enjoy the joy of life.

I tell my kids often that you just can’t take life too seriously. That includes family photo day. My favorite thing about capturing a family year after year is that everyone is uniquely who they are that day. It offers a glimpse into who a person is and it offers me a front row seat and I just adore it.
