Maternity sessions are some of my favorites. Just such a precious time. So much joy and excitement and add in a gorgeous mama and my goodness. Steals my heart every single time.

When preparing for a maternity session it’s important that you think of the aesthetic of your home and what will look great as final artwork. That includes the colors, if a dramatic sunset would work or something softer like the morning light offers and the location of course. When choosing your location it’s also important to consider children if you have any. We want to always ensure we keep everyone safe so if you have a toddler something close to a busy road probably isn’t our best idea. We love when we have the opportunity to capture our growing families before their newborn comes. It helps us to get to know you better before your newborn shoot and helps you to know us before welcoming us into your home.

So when should you book?

We often get asked when the best time to schedule is and the answer is always….right now. We schedule maternity and newborn sessions pretty far in advance. This is because little ones like to have their own time table of when they would like to be born so we only schedule a certain amount of these sessions each month. Frequently we are the first to know about a growing family and that is something that is never lost on us. We truly value and appreciate the trust that our clients have in us and know that we couldn’t do this is it wasn’t for you!
