I think many people would be surprised to know that these photos were not created in a professional studio. They were actually created at our clients home! We love providing in home newborn sessions for our clients. With many years of practice, and a little photography magic, we are able to create gorgeous studio quality images in the comfort of your own home! Behind the scenes, it takes a lot of work to create these magical at-home studio newborn sessions.

Preparation: Before the session, we send every client a questionnaire to ensure we understand their preferences, discuss ideas, and plan the shoot. We send all our parents a detailed prep guide to help them plan ahead for the session and make sure baby and the whole family is ready on the day.

Lighting: Lighting plays a crucial role in creating beautiful newborn portraits. For most at home sessions, we use a combination of studio and natural lighting. Michelle has more than a decades experience and is such a pro! The behind the scenes versus the final product shock many clients!

Set up and accessories: We carefully select blankets, wraps, and accessories for each session. We like to keep the setup natural and classic so each client has a beautiful gallery of timeless images.

Safety: Safety is of utmost importance during newborn sessions. As a professional photographer who specializes in newborn photography, Michelle understands the fragility of newborns and takes all necessary precautions. She ensures that the baby is comfortable, supported, and never put at risk. Some images may be composites, combining multiple images to create the illusion of the baby in various poses while maintaining their safety.

Patience and Expertise: Newborn photography requires a great deal of patience. Babies run the show and they often need time for feeding, changing, and comforting. Michelle is not only a very talented and well trained photographer, but also a mother and pediatric nurse. She has spent many years perfecting her craft and as a result is one of the best Newborn Photographers in Central Florida! (this is my totally unbiased opinion of course…said with a huge smile on my face..I mean I may be biased…but it’s also TOTALLY true!)

Post-processing: After the session, we carefully select the best images and spend quite a bit of time making sure that our clients galleries are just right. This is where a lot of the magic happens!

Collaboration: Successful at-home studio newborn sessions involve a collaboration between us and our clients. We do our best to educate all our clients on the best ways to prep baby for their session which is key to making the session go as smoothly as possible!
